Reseller for Verifone Restaurant Device
Micros Systems Inc., a software company, said Friday that it
will resell a VeriFone Holdings Inc. payment device to the restaurant
industry.
Micros, of Columbia, Md., will resell the Vx 670 mobile payments
system, a new device that lets waiters swipe a debit card at the
customer's table so the customer can then type in a personal identification
number to approve the payment. It is integrated with Micros' RES
software, which supports various restaurant tasks, including payments.
Accepting PIN debit payments at the restaurant table can address
customer concerns about fraud and card skimming, Micros said.
Micros will also sell other payment devices, such as an outdoor
payment system, from VeriFone, which is based in San Jose.
